Off-grid travel trailers, built to stay out
An off-grid travel trailer makes its own power, carries its own water and stays comfortable in any season, so you can camp for weeks without hookups. The LV Line is built that way from the start: a large solar array, a large lithium battery and a backup generator on every model, water planned for well over a week for two, and patented warm-wall heat for four-season travel. Starting at $175K.
What makes a travel trailer off-grid capable
Four things decide how long you can stay out.
Power
Solar does the daily work, a large battery stores it, and a generator covers the cloudy days. On the LV Line all three are standard, and on PRO models the solar covers a typical day on its own.
Power and connectivity →Water
Water sends most rigs home early. The LV Line’s tanks are sized for two people to travel well over a week between water stops, and PRO models add a recirculating shower and water drawn from the air.
Carry more, make more →Heat and cooling
Patented warm-wall heat warms the floor, walls and windows, and keeps the tanks and plumbing protected below the floor. Air conditioning reaches every room.
Climate and fresh air →A structure that lasts
A steel chassis, an all-metal frame and composite decks with no wood to rot, insulated with closed-cell spray foam.
Built on steel, without wood →
How long can you stay off-grid?
It depends on the sun, the weather and how you live. The LV Line is modeled for weeks off-grid for two people in mild weather with typical use. With no sun at all, the battery and generator still carry you a long way. Water is usually what decides it, which is why the line plans power and water as one system.
Connected wherever you park
Starlink satellite internet comes built in, for video calls and streaming far past the last cell tower. One app shows what the sun is making, what you’re using, how much is left and how full the tanks are, and starts the generator from your phone.

Off-grid questions
Do I need a generator if I have solar?
Solar covers most days, but clouds, short winter days and heavy use happen. A generator that charges the battery automatically means you never have to pack up early. It’s standard on every LV Line trailer.
Can an off-grid travel trailer run air conditioning?
Yes, with enough battery and inverter capacity. The LV Line’s high-output inverters run a real household, including air conditioning, induction cooking and an espresso machine.
Is an off-grid travel trailer good for winter?
It can be, if the heat and insulation are built for it. Warm-wall heat, closed-cell spray foam and tanks and plumbing inside the heated envelope make the LV Line a four-season trailer.
What do I need to tow it?
See Towing the LV Line and our guide to trucks for towing a travel trailer.
How much does an off-grid travel trailer cost?
The LV Line starts at $175K, and a $100 refundable reservation holds your place.
Built on four generations
Living Vehicle has designed and built trailers in the USA since 2017, across four generations and more than 130 trailers delivered.
