The LV Line is built to tow behind the trucks people actually drive. Here's what each model needs, what to expect from an electric truck, and where we stand on powered axles.
Match the truck to the loaded trailer
Always size your truck to the trailer's GVWR, the most it can weigh fully loaded. Dry weight is lower, but you won't tow it empty. Check three of your truck's ratings against the loaded trailer: towing capacity, tongue (hitch) weight and payload.
The lightest LV Line model
The lightest LV Line model is designed with electric and lighter trucks in mind. On early estimates, it sits within the tow rating of select half-ton trucks and of leading electric trucks when properly equipped, such as the Cybertruck, Rivian R1T and Chevrolet Silverado EV, as well as any ¾-ton. We recommend a ¾-ton for the most margin.
The larger models
The larger models call for a ¾-ton or 1-ton truck. Reservation holders receive the full ratings for each model.
Towing with an electric truck
Electric trucks tow well: instant torque, smooth power and a quiet cabin. The trade-off is range. Pulling a large trailer typically cuts an EV's range by about half, so plan charging stops closer together and look for pull-through chargers.
Once you arrive, the LV takes over. Every LV Line model makes its own power with solar, a large battery and a backup generator, so your truck's battery only has to cover the drive.
Powered axles
Powered assist axles are promising, and we're studying them closely. It's new technology, so we're not ready to share details or make promises. When we release something, it will have been tested on the road, proven safe and work beautifully. Until then, please plan around the ratings we publish.
Built for the road
The first rule of a good building applies on wheels too: get the envelope right and everything inside works better. The LV Line rides on a welded steel chassis and body frame, clad in aluminum. Closed-cell spray foam seals the roof and floor, the walls are insulated end to end, and a coated roof sheds sun and weather. Dual-pane windows and gasketed hatches with positive latches keep the outside out.
Inside, rigid cabinetry with quality hardware stays shut on washboard roads: a hanging closet, a pull-out pantry, deep drawers and under-seat storage. Outside, insulated lockers hold skis, boards and tools.
Shaped to tow
Before building the LV Line, we put its shape through a full airflow study. Read about the aerodynamic study →

Towing guidance is based on estimates until production units are weighed. Always confirm your truck's ratings with its manufacturer.
